Over the next ten years, up to £20 million will be invested in Blakenall through a programme called Pride in Place.
But Blakenall has seen programmes, funding and promises come and go before.
So What makes this different?
This time, it does not start with a plan or a list of ideas written somewhere else. It starts with people.
The people who know these streets. The people who already care. The people who quietly get things done every day.
No priorities have been chosen and no plan has been written. The first step is to listen across Blakenall and make sure the people who know this place best help shape what happens next.
Money Doesn't build communities.
people in Blakenall do.
Pride in Place brings a significant opportunity for Blakenall. But the money is only part of the story.
What matters, what gets backed and where investment goes should be shaped by people who live here.
Not only the loudest voices.
Not only the people already sitting around tables.
The people who care about Blakenall and want to be part of what comes next.

Pride in Place is a UK Government programme giving communities long-term funding and more say over what happens in their area.
Blakenall will receive up to £20 million over ten years.
The funding and broad rules of the government programme are confirmed.
The local priorities, projects and plan have not been decided and any decisions should be rooted in and shaped by the community across Blakenall.
It can support improvements that make a lasting difference to everyday life in the area.
Exactly what gets funded will depend on the priorities agreed with the community and the rules of the programme.
People across Blakenall should set the priorities and influence the decisions.
A new Neighbourhood Board will help involve the wider community, look after the process and make sure the plan reflects what local people want.
The first stage is about listening and finding people who want to get involved.
That includes conversations across Blakenall and inviting people to apply to join the new Neighbourhood Board.
You can:
- arrange a conversation with the team;
- Give your views online;
- apply to join the Neighbourhood Board;
- share this page with somebody else.
You do not need to represent an organisation or arrive with a finished idea.
The early stage in this process is being supported by The Change Arc, an independent organisation.
Walsall Council is the accountable body for the Pride in Place funding.
Over the coming months a community-led Neighbourhood Board will be established to take the programme forward. and create the plan.
